Penny and Coco had decided to go to the park in Mochi Meadow for the day. They loved going on walks through the park together.

The birds seemed extra cheerful today on their walk. Maybe it was because it was such a calm day, hardly a breeze passing by. As nice as that sounds, Penny and Coco were starting to feel hot under the sun.

They sat in the shade under the tree. Penny started contemplating how sad it was that she and Coco could get shade under the tree, but the tree can never get any when it gets too hot. “Well, maybe the tree doesn’t mind,” Coco said, “Plants need sun to grow.”

Penny agreed, but then something caught her attention. It was a soft ringing sound that could only mean one thing: ice cream.

She sat right up and started looking around. At that time, Coco noticed the sound too and was looking with her. Finally they found the truck on the other side of the park. “Let’s go!” Penny cried, making her way over.

Coco soon caught up as they approached the ice cream truck. Penny eyes grew wide with excitement. There were so many wonderful flavors, how in the world was she going to pick which one to try?

After a minute, Coco had picked which ice cream and gave her order. Penny was stuck. What did she want today? A popsicle? An ice cream cone? And then which flavor? Did she want something fruity or something subtle like vanilla? She just didn’t know.

But she knew Coco was waiting so they could go enjoy their ice cream together. Penny also knew if she didn’t hurry, Coco’s would start to melt. That seemed to make her feel more stuck. “They’re all so good!” cried Penny, “I just can’t pick which one to try today!”

“Whenever I can’t decide, I play a game of Eenie Meenie Mynie Mo,” Coco told Penny, “Having something decided for me helps me realize what I actually want.”

Penny tried it out and wouldn’t you know it? It worked. Penny ordered her ice cream and off they went. Penny was so excited for her ice cream, she began to dance an ice cream dance. She rocked back and forth and began to twirl with her ice cream in hand. She took messy licks in the middle of her dance.

Coco sat on a park bench and watched her friend dance as she ate hers. Oh no! Penny’s ice cream was about to fall! Coco tried to warn Penny but it was too late. It fell on the ground with a plop.

Penny stopped her dance. She knew what that sound meant.

A big frown formed on her face. How silly of her to dance and eat ice cream. Coco came over to help Penny feel better. “I’m sorry Penny.” Coco said, “I really liked your ice cream dance.”

“Thanks.”

“Do you want to get another ice cream?” Coco asked, “You could get one of the other flavors you wanted to try.”

Penny smiled and agreed. Good thing for good friends to help you feel better.
